EMDR Therapy in Austin:
Deeper Healing, Targeting the Root Cause
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is an evidence-based technique (that means it's backed by science) used to treat trauma and other emotionally painful experiences. It includes the use of eye movements to help reduce the intensity of unpleasant emotion and disturbing memories. It is not hypnosis.

Is EMDR right for you?
Many of my clients are pleasantly surprised by the relief they find using EMDR, often describing the change as feeling like "magic."

What can EMDR help with?
EMDR is not just for PTSD; it can be used to resolve the pain associated with unpleasant childhood events, sexual trauma, grief, anxiety, and general feelings of "stuckness" in personal life or in relationships.

How is EMDR different than talk therapy?
While talk therapy engages your thinking mind, EMDR connects with the deeper parts of your brain where distressing memories are stored. Sometimes your brain's natural protective instincts can prevent you from accessing the root of an issue. EMDR helps to gently lower that subconscious guard.
